You can't get any more country or soul food then you can get here. When in Savannah and you want a full belly of southern soul food you come here. I've never had southern soul food better than this place. I suggest you try everything they serve and you will not be sorry.

If you want soul food that tastes like it just came out of your grandmother's kitchen on a Sunday afternoon, this is the place! It was such a nice change to go to a soul food spot that wasn't sold out of 90% of their menu. Everything I ordered was available and tasted fresh. The owner was extremely friendly & hospitable. Highly recommend checking this place out if you're in the Savannah area.

It's definitely a YES for me!!! If you are looking for some down home fiddles like Grandma use to make, then this is definitely the spot for you.... Somebody definitely put a lot of experience and love in these recipes. I ordered the collard greens and mac & cheese with lima beans and baked chicken..... I wasn't a huge fan of the baked chicken, it may have been sitting all day and lost its moisture but everything else was BUSSIN!!! My dude got the collard greens, sweet potatoes with rice and turkey legs and he had no complaints, as a matter of fact, he was not evening speaking during dinner. Now this is a " hole in the wall " type of restaurant, with a cafeteria style buffet, so all of the foods are laid out for your viewing. The desserts looked amazing as well so I will be sure to try something another time. Check them out!

I have been to dinner at this restaurant two nights this week. Absolutely delicious food. Fried chicken and fried shrimp. Both were one of the best I have ever had. They seem to be very busy, so you have to wait a while. Sometimes they have been out of things. Last night they didn't have peach cobbler. Tonight no Lima beans. I'm hoping to try the peach cobbler before I have to go home. But the food is authentic southern food, and it's delicious. Everything tasted homemade.

Amazing fried chicken, collard greens, macaroni and cheese, & cornbread! It was worth the wait and drive from Virginia on our Christmas road trip 2023. Friendly staff !

I needed southern food - and I mean REAL southern food, so we came over to Sister's after another choice was closed unexpectedly. This is a choose your entree and pick 3 sides at the counter kind of place. The food is served in styrofoam containers, even if you choose to sit in the little room next door to eat. Now, this is hole in the wall (my favorite kind of nondescript place!) - but the kind of hole in the wall that you know is gonna be good - and this did not disappoint! I had the fried chicken and got 2 pieces, drumstick and thigh. It was crispy, juicy, and cooked to perfection. Probably how grandma would make it, IF I ever had a grandma who made fried chicken.. the collards were great, green beans nice and smoky, and Mac & cheese was homemade and cheesy. Just what I needed for southern fix. I was not a fan of the cornbread - it was dry and lackluster, but when soaking up the collard likker, it worked. You won't go for the ambiance- but don't let that deter you from trying this place for old school southern cooking.

The combined customer service is on point even over the phone. I just came in to get the poundcake but the food smelled and looked amazing (I just had other plans already). Still great on the second try (consistency) and I found out they sell them whole, so with my birthday being in 3 weeks I now know where I'm getting my cake from.

Definitely authentic Southern fare at Sisters of the New South in Savanah GA. It is nothing fancy, just good Southern food. So, they serve the food cafeteria style, 3 sides 1 meat and then they weigh it. 2 plates with 2 sweet teas was $32 which for the portions was a steal. They don't have table service or servers, but they do have a seating area and on this Sunday there was gospel music. Had turkey wings, greens, cabbage, okra, Mac n Cheese, and black eyed peas between the two plates. Everything was pretty good and they come with a piece of corn bread. My only criticism was that all the sides with the exception of the black eyed peas were sweet. Still, the food was good and filling.
